Button up Shirt/Shacket

Our advanced garment construction classes are designed to teach you industry tips and techniques that you can use when sewing your own clothes to give you exceptional results. In this session, we will dive into sewing a two-piece collar, front placket and the option for a short sleeve or long sleeve with a cuff. We will be using the gender-inclusive Cameron Button Up pattern from Helen’s Closet, which is a relaxed shirt style that can be modified for several different looks. Custom pattern adjustments can be made, including length and dart additions. You will leave not only with a finished garment, but also with a custom altered pattern and the skills to make professional looking collared shirts.

When: ( 3classes – 9 hrs instruction total)

Group size: 8 students maximum

Age range: Adults 16+

Skill level: Suitable for experienced sewists wanting to take their skill up a notch and who are familiar with seam allowances, pattern markings and cutting out fabric.
